As an active-duty US Army officer during the late 1970's, I (Bob) served with COL Richard (Dick) Cary, Sr. while assigned to SHAPE headquarters in Mons, Belgium. My wife, LaVerne, and I have maintained a close friendship with Dick and Ida from that time to the present. Dick was one of the most impressive and knowledgeable US Army officers that I have known. Moreover, he was a true friend in every aspect of the word. Ida, we pray that God will continue to shower you, your children, and other family members with His richest blessings. If ever we can be of any help in the future, please don't hesitate to contact us. Best regards and much love.

Richard Cary is celebrated for a life of love, faith and courage. It is an honor to have known Colonel Cary as a man of integrity, humor and compassion. His grandchildren Bobby and Richael Faithful were always surrounded by love and an example of integrity when they visited with their grandparents. Best wishes to all the family and my condolences.

Prayers and best wishes to all family as we celebrate Richard's transition. Colonel Cary served as a wonderful soldier and citizen representing his country and its values throughout the world. He held in love his grandchildren Bobby and Richael and helped by example show them the character qualities of love, integrity and courage. Our love to Rickie and Ida and Margo during this time.
