Mable Jean “Sue-Gal” Ivery Wilson

Mable Jean Ivery Wilson, age 86, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 29, 2025, in a local hospital.    Mable Jean was born June 23, 1939,  to the parentage of Jessie B. Ivery and Elnora Hatley.   “Sue or Sue-Gal” as she was affectionately  known by her family and friends was raised in Douglassville, TX by her mother Elnora and William B Bell.  Mable attended Panhandle School in Douglassville and joined Gum Spring CME Church at an early age.  After moving to Atlanta, Mable attended Bible Deliverance Church where she was acknowledged as Mother Wilson.   Mable later in life joined First Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Jonathan Stanmore.  As her health began to decline, Mable stayed connected by watching Jimmy Swaggart via television.  Mable loved the Lord with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie B Ivery; mother, Elnora and William B. Bell; Special Aunt, Glady Walker; sisters, Linda Ann Hughes, Amelia Parker, Velma Fields, Betty Bell, Gwendolyn James; brothers, Jessie Bell and Billy Ray Bell; son, Christopher Ivery; grandchildren, LaShonda King, Orlando Ivory and VonDerrick Blackwell.

Mable is survived by her children, Christene (Rickie) Banks, Kelvin ((Tamekia) Ivory,  Phobia (David) Boley; Special Daughter, Edythe Graham; special boys, Tyler Blankinship and LJ Sertuche; her sibling, Curtis (Ola) Ivery, Flora Ivery Caswell, Ronnie Joe Ivery, Tony Ivery, Justin Ivery, Lydia McGary, Ruthie Gaston, Sharon Foster, Lashonna Bell, Tamela (Johnny) Dowden, Willie B (Ruthie) Bell, Ricky Bell and Shane Bell; grandchildren, Shaneeka(Sharod) Webster, Russel Stiger, Kristy Stiger, Zamarion and Zalissya Ivery, KeOsha Fedrick, Tasha Childs, Kelvin(Kristi) Horsley, Demond(Kirsten) Horsley and Shamekia Horsley.

Viewing will be Friday, July 4, 2025, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025, at First Baptist Church,  with Dr. Jonathan Stanmore officiating.

Interment will be in Pinecrest Cemetery, Atlanta, TX.
