Jewel Birmingham, 83, of Atlanta died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in a local hospital.
Mr. Birmingham was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Shiloh, Texas. He was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Celia Birmingham of Dallas and Terri Kelley of Atlanta; one son, Rickie Banks Sr. of Atlanta; four sisters, Venolia Birmingham of Atlanta, Novella Harrison of Linden, Texas, and Helen Buchanan and Oneida Springfield of Houston; one brother, John Birmingham of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church with Elder B.C. James Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.
The body may be viewed from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
