Dora Ann McGary Watson

Dora Ann McGary Watson, age 85,  of Douglassville, Texas  went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Texarkana, Texas. She was born May 06, 1940 to P.G. and Gurtis McGary.   Dora was a member of William Chapel Baptist Church.  She attended and graduated from Panhandle High School in Douglassville, Texas.   After High School, Dora married McErvin Watson and to this union four children were born.   Dora loved being a caregiver to many, many people; whether it was her own children, grandchildren, siblings and their children or to people in the community.   She loved to cook and feed people.

Dora is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers; James, P.G., Jr, Jerome and Ben.

Dora leaves to cherish her loving memories; three sons: Ricky(Sherry) and Gary (Dwyna) of Douglassville, Texas and Tommy (Madetra) of Arlington, Texas;  daughter, Carolyn (James)  of DeSoto, Texas; brother, Ray, and sisters,  Diane McGary, Theresa McGary Solomon, Josephine McGary Hamilton , Helen McGary Lucas and Wanda McGary House; seven grandchildren,  Keanda, LaPorcha, NiEsha, Garion, Jacoby, LaBrisha, and Tytiana;  twelve great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Floyd Valley  Baptist Church in Marietta, Texas , under the direction Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Service, Minister Reginal Bowser is the Pastor with Rev. Arlander Buford officiating.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm , Friday, May 16, 2025 at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.  Internment will be in Floyd Valley Cemetery.
