Kanessha Newsome

Kanesha Shenae Newsom departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest on June 10, 2026.  She was born on November 4, 1984, in Tyler, Texas. Kanesha was a lifelong resident of the community.
She dedicated more than 20 years of service to UT Health East Texas, where she earned the admiration and respect of colleagues, patients, and friends alike. Her leadership, strong work ethic, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. She was also a proud graduate of Chapel Hill High School, Class of 2003.
Kanesha was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Newsom, and her aunt, Lillie Faye Lee Newsom.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 1:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church, with Bishop J. Peters officiating, Rev. Colby Boyce, Pastor.   A walk-thru viewing will be held on Friday, June 19 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Coleman Atlanta Funeral Home.


She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children, Jamiah Wofford and Zaniyah Wofford; her granddaughter, Key’Lon Brooks, all of Tyler, Texas; her sister, Shenneka Newsom of Tyler, Texas; her brother, Tremain Mack of Burien; and her beloved nephews, Keaunte Newsom, Markevion Newsom, Ladarius Newsom, and Kadarius Newsom, all of Tyler, Texas.
Kanesha is also survived by her loving companion, Andre Wofford of Tyler, Texas, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
She will not only be remembered for her strength and devotion to family, but also for her ability to make people laugh. No matter the situation, she could brighten someone’s day with her unique and unforgettable laugh. Kanesha’s life was a testament to the power of love and connection. The legacy she leaves behind is written in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
