Sadie Marie Blaylock Hooper

Sadie Marie Blaylock Hooper, 92, of Atlanta, Texas, entered her eternal home on July 25, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. “Mama Sadie,” as she was affectionately known, was born on April 22, 1934, to the late A.C. Blaylock, Sr. and Willie Richardson Blaylock. She was also the proud stepdaughter of S.E.J. Carter.

At an early age, Sadie joined Spring Hill Baptist Church in Douglassville, Texas. After moving to Atlanta, she united with Enon First Baptist Church, where she faithfully served until she returned home to care for her parents. She later attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church alongside her children and grandchildren. Sadie retired from Henson-Kickernick Manufacturing Company after years of dedicated service.

Mama Sadie’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, but her spirit remains woven into every story, every cherished memory, and every life she touched. She was a steady source of love, guidance, comfort, wisdom, and strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, S.E.J. Carter; and her siblings, Curtis Howard Blaylock, Burnett Blaylock, Kirby Blaylock, and S.T. Blaylock.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Atlanta, Texas, with Pastor Dr. A.C. Williams officiating. A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Sadie Marie, lovingly known as Mama Sadie, leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Barbara Davis (Charles); her son, Larry Blaylock (Mary); her grandchildren, Patrick Blaylock (Tiffany), Derrick Blaylock (Kristen), Davoshia Jefferson, and Tiffannee Lloyd; her eleven great-grandchildren, Travian (Tatiana), Taylen, Taiya, Tory, Trenton, Truett Blaylock, Maci Rowe, Kennedi Harrison, Kaigen Loyd, Kameron Williams, and Matthew Blaylock; her three great-great-grandchildren, Tristan, Layla, and Trace Blaylock; her siblings, Randolph Blaylock, A.C.
