Bessie B. Smith, 84, of Atlanta died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Shiloh, Texas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, George Smith and Elzie Smith of Atlanta, Texas, and Bobby Smith of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, C.M. Martin of Amarillo, Texas, and John L. Martin of Domino, Texas; four sisters, Doris Martin of Amarillo, Mozell Jackson of Atlanta, Texas, Luella Kidd of Los Angeles and Martha Watson of Tyler, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Calvary Tabernacle, Queen City, Texas, with the Rev. Arlistel Maxie officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.
