Ella Mae Hawkins, 84, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, in a local nursing home.
Ms. Hawkins was born July 31, 1930, in Magnolia, Ark. She was retired from Texarkana Housing Authority and a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Scotty Wingfield and Timothy Hopkins of Texarkana and Vontonio Hawkins of Dallas; one stepson, Clyde Williams of San Francisco; one daughter, Mishelle Hawkins of Texarkana; two stepdaughters, Benita Robinson and Jenetta Burkins of Texarkana; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Closed casket services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater New Hope Baptist Church with Dr. M.F. Brewster officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.
The body may be viewed noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Relatives will be at 1812 Laurel St., Texarkana, Ark., from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, October 10.
