James Stiger, 89, of Atlanta died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at his home. Mr. Stiger was born July 17, 1927, in Atlanta. He was a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie B. Stiger; four sons and one daughter-in-law, James Smith and Michael and Wanda Gilliam of Atlanta and Quinton Gilliam and Kenneth Gilliam of Houston; one daughter, Alice Smith of Houston; three brothers, Richard Stiger and Roy Stiger of Shiloh, Texas, and Ronnie Stiger Sr. of Domino, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Community Nazarene Church, Atlanta, with the Rev. B.C. James officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Community Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home. The body may be viewed noon to 5 p.m., Friday, October 28, at the funeral home.
