M. Preston Lockhart Jr., 75, of Linden, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Lockhart was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Douglassville, Texas. He was employed in construction and a member of Gum Springs CME Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Queen Dickerson, Mary Neal, Helen Collins and Roberta Dowell; four brothers, Sammie Lockhart, Billy Martin, David Martin and Joe Martin; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Gum Springs CME Church with the Rev. Patricia Fuller and Elder D. Casteel officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Community Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home. The body may be viewed noon to 5 p.m. Friday, November 3, at the funeral home.
