Gloria Jean Lockhart, 62, of Marietta, Texas, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at her home.

Ms. Lockhart was born July 10, 1951, in Marietta. She was a restorative aide and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Douglassville, Texas.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Veronica and James Dowell and Shon Lockhart of Marietta; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerrand and Tara Lockhart of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Nell Rape of Marietta and Sheila King of San Leandro, Calif.; two brothers, Allen Lloyd Sr. of Garland, Texas, and Robert Lloyd Sr. of Bossier City, La.; one aunt, Sadie Warren of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Tabernacle, Queen City, Texas, with Rickey Greene officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Valley Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home

Leevester Nickleberry, 66, of Marietta, Texas passed away on December 20, 2013 in a Mount Pleasant Nursing Home.  Mr. Nickleberry was born February 27, 1947 in Marietta and a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

Services for Mr. Nickleberry will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jared Noiel presiding.  Burial will be at the Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.   The body maybe viewed from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Survivors include:  one sister, Mary Nickleberry of Marietta; two brothers, Clayborn Nickleberry of Marietta and Claudia Nickleberry of Ennis.

Funeral arraignment are pending with Coleman-Atlanta funeral home.   Mrs. Talton passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Linden Health Care.

Mrs. Modessie Lane, 94, of Bloomburg, Texas passed away December 11, 2013 at Golden Villa Nursing Home in Atlanta. Texas.   Mrs. Lane was born March 13, 1919 in Grand Cane Louisiana.  She was a Homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Bloomburg, TX.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M, Saturday, December 21, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Willie C. Simington, Sr., officiating.  Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home, Atlanta Texas.   The body maybe viewed from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Survivors includes:  Devoted daughter, Shirley Harris of Bloomburg; Johnnie(Alzay) Lane, of Bloomburg;  Sylvia Blackmon(Grant), Los Angeles, CA; Dennis(Melvine) Blackmon, St. Louis, MO; Monroe Blackmon, St. Louis, MO; one step Daughter, Para Lee(Patrick) Nelson, Flint, MI.  22 grandchildren, 26 great grand children, 22 great great grand children and a host of nieces & nephews.

Beatrice Lawson Daniels, 98, of Atlanta died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, in a local hospital. Ms. Daniels was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Atlanta. She was a retired teacher and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a number of relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, with Rev. Alrlister Maxie and Elder Herbert Harper officiating.  Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Visitation will be noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Rose Chism, 60, of Linden passed away on November 22, 2013 at her residents.   Mrs. Chism was born August 15, 1953 in Atlanta, Texas.  She was retired from Guard Line and a member of New Light Baptist Church.

Closed Casket services will be held at 11:00 A.M., November 30, 2013 at New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Rose leaves to cherish her memories: Two daughters, Shan (Dreg) Darty of Kildare, Charman Chism of Linden;  One son, Romar Chism, of Linden and Two adopted sons:  Jimmie Lee (Dakota) of Atlanta and Jr. Gardner of Tyler.  Six grandchildrens; Trey Darty of Nachogdoches, Tramone Darty, Elijah Thompson, Landen Titus, Jay Lee Phillips and Antwain Phillips, all of Linden, Texas.

ATLANTA, Texas—Johnnie Lee Gaither, 85, of Atlanta died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at his home. Mr. Gaither was born Aug. 3, 1928.

Survivors include three sons, Willie C. Gaither, Johnnie M. Gaither and James Gardner; one special friend, Lessie B. Dickerson; one special aunt, Sallie Hunter; seven brothers; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church with James Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Mr. Warren was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Douglassville, Texas. He was a member of Mount Zion Church.

Survivors include one sister, Mae Florence of Dallas; one sister-in-law, Iwanna Warren; and a number of other relatives.

Dorothy Lou Smith, 67, of Atlanta, Texas passed away on August 25, 2013 at Linden Health Care.  Mrs. Smith was born March 28, 1946 in Naples Texas and was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant.  She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 31, at 11:00 A.M. at  Enon First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas with  Rev. John W. Smith, Jr. officiating.   Burial will be in the Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.   The body mabe viewed from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Smith, Sr.of Atlanta;  three sons, Reggie Smith, John W. Smith, Jr., and Eddie Banks;   one brother, Eddie Rose, four granddaughters; three grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Velma Jean Walker Trotter, 70, of Douglassville, Texas passed away on August 4, 2013 at her residents.  Mrs. Trotter was born March 6, 1943 and was a member of Walker Chapel COGIC in Douglassville, Texas.   She also organized a volunteer group “The Willing Workers”.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.  at Calvary Tabernacle in Queen City, Texas with Superintendent Neotis Roberson officiating.  Burial will be in the Shady Groves cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Fneral Home.

Oscar Arthur Luckey Jr., 73, of Atlanta died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in a local hospital.

Mr. Luckey was born Dec. 23, 1939. He was a member of Floyd Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ontario Arkis and Nakisha Luckey; three sisters, Clara Oliver, Callie Mae Washington and Venita Stiger; two brothers, Whalen Luckey Sr. and Willie Lee Luckey; one grandson, Jayden Luckey; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Floyd Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie L. Collins officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Valley Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Alvin Jerome Stiger, 54 of Queen City, Texas passed away on July 15, 2013 at Rose Haven Retreat in Atlanta, Texas.  Mr. Stiger was born July 17, 1958 in Queen City Texas to Mr. Jerome and Kay Stiger.   He was a mechanic.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Golden Gate Baptist Church with Elder Herbert Harper officiating.  Burial will be at Ware Memorial Cemetery in Domino, Texas.  The body may be viewed from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19 at Coleman Atlanta Funeral Home, Atlanta Texas.

Survivors include:   His mother, Kay Bryant; one son, Demond Jones, one daughter, Denisha Jones; A Special Friend, Lisa Jones; three brothers, Donald, Michael, and Wilfred Stiger all of Queen City, Texas;  five sisters, Linda (Charles) McKinney, Mattie Chamblee, Beverly (Lawrence) Stephens all of Atlanta, Texas.  Hattie(Alfred) Lemke of Marietta, Texas and Maria (Donald) Miller of Queen City, Texas; and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Dorothy Nell Casteel Butts, 64, of Ft. Worth, Texas passed away on June 3, 2013 at her residents.   Mrs. Butts was  born June 2, 1949 and  was a member of Floyd Valley Baptist Church of Marietta, Tx.

Services will be beld Saturday, June 8, at 11:00 A.M. at Floyd Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Ray Collins officiating.   Burial will be at the Floyd Valley Cemetery under the direction of Coleman Atlanta Funeral Home.   The body may be viewed from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, at the funeral home.

Survivors Include: One Daughter; Ora Nell Casteel, Fort Worth, Texas.   Four Sisters:  Ella Hatley, Douglassville,  Minnie Collins and Velva Luckey both of Marietta, Wilma Frazier, Daingerfield.  Three brothers; Benjamin Collins of Atlanta,  J.L. and Felton Collins both of Douglassville.  Two Grandchildren; Eluntra Casteel & Khavosieaire Hall of Ft. Worth.  One great-granddaughter; Brianna Hall and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.

W.L. Blaylock Sr., 90, of Atlanta died Friday, May 31, 2013, in Texarkana, Texas.

Mr. Blaylock was born Aug. 31, 1922, in Douglassville, Texas. He was a retired peace officer and a member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Jewel Faye Casteel Blaylock of Atlanta; one daughter, Eva Faye Blaylock Barber of Atlanta; two sons, Ennis Blaylock of Atlanta and Roderick Blaylock of New Boston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Hiram St., Atlanta, with the Rev. George Rape officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Douglassville, under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.
