Lonnie Charles Jiles, 63, of Douglassville, Texas, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, in a Linden, Texas, hospital.

Mr. Jiles was born June 16, 1948, in Douglassville. He was a member of Jones Hill COGIC, Marietta, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Jiles; two children, Asa Jiles and Maretaret Jiles; three sisters; and three brothers.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Jones Hill COGIC with Superintendent Neotis Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Jones Hill Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Viewing will be noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Joe Lee Barber

 

Joe Lee Barber, 65, of Atlanta died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in Atlanta.

Mr. Barber was born Feb. 29, 1948, in DeKalb, Texas. He was retired from the City of Atlanta and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Barber of Atlanta; one son, Calvin Thomas of Ashdown, Ark.; one daughter, Lisa Hayden of Atlanta; his mother, Mary Barber-Daniels of DeKalb; two sisters, Linda Daniels and Barbara Daniels of DeKalb; four brothers, Calvin Daniels, Billy Barber, Donald Daniels and Derrick Daniels of DeKalb; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be noon Saturday at Cornerstone Assembly of God, Atlanta, with Arlistel Maxie officiating. Burial will be in Garland Community Cemetery, DeKalb, under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home

Janeth Marie Lincoln

Janeth Marie Lincoln, 57, of Domino, Texas passed away on March 3, 2013 at her resident.  Ms. Lincoln was a member of St. Paul CME Church and a Certified Nurse Assistant.

Services will be held on Saturday,  March 9, 2013 at St. Paul CME Church, Domino, Texas at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Green officiating.  Burial will be at the Ware Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.  The body maybe viewed from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include: son, Tyrone Lincoln of San Diego, CA; 2 daughters, Vera Lincoln of Domino and Nicole Kyles of Dallas; brother, Lonzo Lincoln; 2 sisters, Aminda Lincoln of Arlington and Edna Lincoln of Kansas City.  2 uncles, Eddie Johnson and Eugene Robinson of Kansas City; aunt, Vera Swanson of Kansas City; Sister-in-law, Rebecca Lincoln of Domino.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Vera D. Parker Beasley

Vera D. Parker Beasley, 55 of Evermon, Texas died on February 23, 2013 in Fort Worth Texas.  Mrs. Beasley was born June 27, 1957 in Linden, Texas and was a Medical Coder/Billing Specialist.  She was a member of Tabernacle of Praise, Fort Worth Texas.

Services will be held February 23, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Marietta, Texas with the Rev. John Sylive Officiating.  Burial will be in the Floyd Valley Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home, Atlanta, Texas.  The body maybe viewed from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 P.M. and family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.  on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the funeral home.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Barry & Cory Beasley of Fort Worth;  Tameshia Beasley of Fort Worth; her father, three sisters, seven brother and 12 grandchildren.  A host of aunts, uncles and other relatives

Mary Smith

Mary Lee Johnson Smith, 93, of Atlanta died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, in Longview, Texas.

Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 23, 1919, in Jefferson, Texas. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, Jefferson.

Survivors include three sons, Herman Deveroux Jr. of Lufkin, Texas, Rufus Clay of Dallas and Clifford Clay of Little Rock; five daughters, Ruby Clifton of Oakland, Calif., Velma Allen of Atlanta and Mary White, Helen Clay and Linda Ray Barber of Texarkana; 48 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Victory Baptist Church with Joe Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home

Cleophus Cole

Cleophus Cole, 86, of Bivins, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in Atlanta.

Mr. Cole was born Nov. 10, 1926. He was retired from Anthony Forest Products and a Christian.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Franklin and Shelia Cole Smith of Texarkana and Charlie D. Cole of Atlanta; one daughter and son-in-law, Annie Cole and Marquette Franklin of Houston; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one special friend, Cassie Smith of Atlanta; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Ray Collins officiating. Burial will be in Ferrell Cemetery, Kildare, Texas.

The body may be viewed from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home with visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

James Edward Boyce

James Edward Boyce 74 of Atlanta, Texas died on January 29, 2013 at his residents.   James was a retired electrician and Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, Naples, Texas.  He was a member of Floyd Valley Missionary Baptist Church.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 2, at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church on Hiram Street in Atlanta, Texas with Rev. George Rape officiating.   Burial will be in the Floyd Valley Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.  The body may be viewed from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 P.M.  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Survivors include:  3 sons, LaPrensa (Pamela) Boyce, Gerald Boyce of Atlanta, Texas, and Colby (Mesha) Boyce of Queen City, Texas. 2 daughters, Jamesetta (Johnny) Burns of Dallas, Texas, and Dana Boyce of Atlanta, Texas.  3 brothers, Joe Boyce, Charles Boyce of Dallas, Texas, and Donnie Boyce of Longview, Texas.  2 sisters Ruby James of Tyler, Texas and Pleatis Anderson of Atlanta, Texas.  2 aunts, Operine Kelly and Helen McCoy.  Six grandchildrens, five great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ira B. Godfrey Sr., 74, of Atlanta died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Godfrey was born Feb. 19, 1938, in Rodessa, La. He was retired and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Godfrey; six sons, Ira Jr., Eric Sr., Theodore, David, Steven / and Freddie; three daughters, Karen, Natalie and Myra; two sisters; two brothers; 11 grandchildren; 12 brothers-in-law; and six sisters-in-law.

Dyson Coleman

Dyson LaBron Coleman, 2, of Atlanta died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, in a local hospital.

Dyson was born March 10, 2010, in Texarkana, Texas. He was a member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Doddridge, Ark.

Survivors include his parents, Latina Coleman and Dike Coleman of Atlanta; two brothers, Jaden Wells and Karsen Coleman of Atlanta; his grandparents, Patricia Spelling of Atlanta, Eva Mae Gilliam and Collin Harrison of Houston; eight aunts and uncles; and one special great-aunt, Sharon Gayle Larry of Atlanta.

Valerie Lynn Jordan Wilson, 44, of Atlanta, Texas died on December 20, 2012 at Medical City Hospital in Dallas Texas.  She was born June 3rd, 1968 in Spring Hill, La. to Mr. Roy Jordan, Jr. and Linda Jordan.   Valerie was employed with Texas Department of Human Services and T.I.S.D. and a member of Liberty Life Christian Ministries.

Services (Closed Casket) will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at the Cornerstone Assembly of God, Atlanta, Texas with Rev. E.A. Jordan officiating.  Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.    The body maybe viewed at Cornerstone Assembly of God from 10:00 A.M.  to 12:00 P.M.

Charlie Peters

Charlie Peters Sr., 87, of Atlanta died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Peters was born June 26, 1925, in Atlanta. He was a mechanic, construction worker and track man for the railroad and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. 

Survivors include two daughters, Lois Roberson of Atlanta and Cora Straker of Houston; two sons, Charlie D. Peters Jr. and Jimmy Peters of Atlanta; one stepson, Robert Warren of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Arlistel Maxine officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.
