Funeral arrangements are pending for Mr. Charles James, 69, of Jefferson, Texas.   Mr. James passed away at Heritage Plaza Nursing Center on June 29, 2014.

Mrs. Mary Ethel Smith, 89 of Linden Texas passed way on June 16, 2014 at Linden Health Care.   Mrs. Ethel was born May 5, 1925 in Linden, Texas.   She was a retired and a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Harvey was proceeded in death by her mother Ethel Smith and an aunt Mary Ann Russell.

She leaves to cherish her memory a host of relative and friends.

Service for Mrs. Harvey will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John W. Givens presiding.   Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.  The body maybe viewed from 12:00 noon until 5:00 P.M. on Friday, June 20, 2014.

Daisy Gamble, 73, of Queen City, Texas, died Monday, June 9, 2014, in Texarkana, Texas.

Mrs. Gamble was born May 22, 1941, in Domino, Texas. She was a certified nurse and a member of Springdale COGIC. She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Ray Gamble.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Gamble Sr.; two sons, Thomas Gamble Jr. and Anthony Gamble; six daughters, Jeanette Ivory Jacobs, Zeola Maxie, Linda Shephard, Bernice Gamble, Angela Harrison and Tracie Williams; 28 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Tabernacle, Queen City, with Donnie Timmons officiating. Burial will be in Lenark Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Melie Jiles, 86, of Atlanta died Saturday, May 5, 2014, in a local hospital.

Ms. Jiles was born Feb. 29, 1928, in Douglassville, Texas. She was a member of Gum Springs CME Church.

Survivors include two sons, Connie Ray Jiles and Billy Royce Jiles; four daughters, Dorothy Henderson, Gloria Faye Evans, Delores Jackson and Mary Louise Thompson; two brothers, Virgil Hatley Jr. and Welton Hatley; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be noon Saturday at Gum Springs CME Church with Melton Hatley Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs CME Church Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Visitation will be noon to 5 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014 at the funeral home.

Donny Wayne Jones, 55, of Atlanta died Thursday, March 27, 2014, in a local hospital.

Mr. Jones was born Oct. 30, 1958, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a custodian at Atlanta ISD.

Survivors include his wife, Etherlean; six children, Bonderick and Antonious of Texarkana, Shadric of Irving, Texas, Brittany of Dallas, Jamar of Atlanta and Kadarrius of Cleburne; two brothers, Edward Jones and Larry Jones of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Sally Madlock of Atlanta, Cathy Coleman of Mount Enterprise, Texas, and Judy Martin of San Angelo; nine grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Rodessa, La., with Harold Abraham officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Glories Ann Finley, 53, of Atlanta died Thursday, March 6, 2014, in a local hospital.

Ms. Finley was born Aug. 25, 1960, in Douglassville, Texas. She was a licensed cosmotologist and a member of Free Christian Zion Church.

Survivors include her mother, Mae Bell Finley; two brothers and sisters-in-law, the Rev. Timmie and Lovie Finley, Alvis James Finley and Youlanda Finley; three sisters, Brinda King, Lutrease Finley and Effie Blaylock; nine aunts and uncles; 13 nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Springhill Baptist Church with Timmie Finley officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Brenda Byrd, 43 of Texarkana passed away on February 12, 2014 at her residents.   She was a CNA.

Johnnie Lee James, 78, of Atlanta died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, in Atlanta.

Mr. James was born April 28, 1935.

Connie Mae Stevens, 72, of Atlanta died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Stevens was born July 5, 1941, in Rodessa, La. She was a retired certified nurses aide.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Sylvia Pace of Texarkana, Leann Jackson of Nash, Texas, and Barbara and Maurice Burdine of Irving, Texas; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Bessie B. Smith, 84, of Atlanta died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital.

Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Shiloh, Texas. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, George Smith and Elzie Smith of Atlanta, Texas, and Bobby Smith of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, C.M. Martin of Amarillo, Texas, and John L. Kathy Marie Smith Parker, 57, of Douglassville, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, in a local hospital.

Ms. Parker was born Jan. 1, 1957, in Tyler, Texas. She was employed with Atlanta ISD and a member of Victory Baptist Church, Atlanta.

Survivors include one daughter, Nicole Parker; one son, Alonzo Parker; two brothers; five sisters; six grandchildren; and three aunts and uncles.

Gloria Jean Lockhart, 62, of Marietta, Texas, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at her home.

Ms. Lockhart was born July 10, 1951, in Marietta. She was a restorative aide and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Douglassville, Texas.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Veronica and James Dowell and Shon Lockhart of Marietta; one son and daughter-in-law, Gerrand and Tara Lockhart of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Nell Rape of Marietta and Sheila King of San Leandro, Calif.; two brothers, Allen Lloyd Sr. of Garland, Texas, and Robert Lloyd Sr. of Bossier City, La.; one aunt, Sadie Warren of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Leevester Nickleberry, 66, of Marietta, Texas passed away on December 20, 2013 in a Mount Pleasant Nursing Home.  Mr. Nickleberry was born February 27, 1947 in Marietta and a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

Services for Mr. Nickleberry will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Mrs. Modessie Lane, 94, of Bloomburg, Texas passed away December 11, 2013 at Golden Villa Nursing Home in Atlanta. Texas.   Mrs. Lane was born March 13, 1919 in Grand Cane Louisiana.  She was a Homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Bloomburg, TX.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M, Saturday, December 21, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Willie C. Simington, Sr., officiating.  Burial will be in the Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home, Atlanta Texas.   The body maybe viewed from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
