Eloise Stiger Peters, 84, of Atlanta died Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Ms. Peters was born May 5, 1928, in Linden, Texas. She was preceded in death by two children, Sherman Peters and the Rev. Vernon R. Warren.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Pat Warren, Charles D. and Betsy Peters and Jimmy and Josephine Peters of Atlanta; and two daughters, Lois Roberson of Atlanta and Cora L. Strakera of Houston.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Atlanta, with the Rev. Bernice James officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Helen Washington

Helen Cleo Washington, 87, of Atlanta died Friday, May 18, 2012, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Washington was born June 12, 1924, in Linden, Texas. She was a retired educator and member of Enon First Baptist Church, Atlanta. 

Survivors include one son, Edward Lee Washington of Atlanta; one daughter, Helen Marie Peters of Atlanta; three brothers, E.M. Mack of Greenville, Texas, the Rev. Willie Mack of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and Lamar Edwards of Dallas; two sisters, Ruby Davis of Los Angeles and Betty Mack Bolding of Lancaster, Texas; two granddaughters, Jennifer Jones and Sonya Washington of Atlanta; one great-grandson, Curtis Smith of Atlanta; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Atlanta with the Rev. Ortis Winkley Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles Lee Jr.

Charles Lee Jr., 69, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, April 1, 2012, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Lee was born Dec. 6, 1942, in New Boston, Texas. He was a construction worker.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Lee and Latonya Conkleton of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Tash Lee of Denton, Texas; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Dora and Berman Wade of Killeen, Texas, Bobbie Turner of Texarkana, Veronica and Kerry Brantley Sr. of Gilbert, Ariz., and Shelia Lee of Clear Lake, Calif.; one brother, L.D. Lee; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Arkadelphia Baptist Church with Bishop Paul Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Arkadelphia Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Vernon Lee Dickerson

ATLANTA, Texas—Vernon Lee Dickerson, 69, of Douglassville, Texas,
died Saturday, February 11, 2011, in a Linden Hospital.

Mr. Dickerson was born November 16, 1942 in Douglassville, Texas to
the Late Grover and Mamie Dickerson. On August 10, 1961 he married
his Sweetheart of 50 years, Queen Lockhart Dickerson. To this union
five children were conceived. Mr. Dickerson was preceded in death by
his parents; grandson, Tracey Williams; son-in-law, John Gipson;
brother, Grover C Dickerson, Jr.

Survivors include: His wife, Queen Dickerson; Five children,
Ed(Doris) Dickerson of Texarkana, Diana Dickerson of Douglassville,
Kathryn Gipson and Sandra (Donald) Ryan of Texarkana and Diana Casteel
of Douglassville. Seven grand children, Darell (Jennifer) Williams of
Queen City, Latoya Young of Douglassville, Tiffany(Frank) Cochran of
Texarkan, Ashley Haire of Atlanta, LaTisha Haire of Douglassville,
Shaunta Dickerson and Daniel Ryan of Texarkana; 10 grandchildrens;
Three sisters: Pearlie Oliver and Annie (Austin) Shackleford of
Douglassville, and Rosie Kidd of Atlanta; Five brothers: A.D
Dickerson of Domino, Turner (Lisa) Dickerson of Atlanta, Willie
Dickerson of Douglassville, Wesley Dickerson of Atlanta and Johnny

Larry Donnell Banks, 57, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, in a Texarkana hospital.  Mr. Banks was born Sept. 2, 1954, in Harlingen, Texas. He was a cutter for Guard-Line Inc. and member of Queen City Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Elvis Maxine Haynes Banks; two sons, Randolph Banks and Marques Banks; two daughters, Pamela Banks and Victoria Lightsey; his parents, Mae Ruth and Randolph Blaylock; three brothers, Kenneth Banks, Christopher Blaylock and Alphonso Blaylock; two sisters, Teresa Banks and Veronica Blaylock; 10 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Tabernacle, Queen City, Texas, with Herbert Harper officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Viewing will be noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Tabernacle.

Love of Oakland, Calif., and Felix Love of Lodi; two sisters, Harriet Terrell of Los Angeles and Mary Green of Oakland; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one special niece, Edith Noel of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Westside Church of Christ, Marshall, Texas, with C.J. McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Keithville, La., under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Jennie Collins, 90 of Shreveport, LA formerly of Jefferson, TX, passed away November 7, 2001 at Chritus Schumpert-Dubis, Shreveport. LA.  Mrs. Collins was born July 15, 1921 in Trees City, LA.
