Johnnie Ree Green, 86, of Linden, Texas, died Saturday, August 20, 2011, in a Linden hospital. Mrs. Green was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Linden Texas. She was a homemaker and member of Southside Church of Christ.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Light Missionary Baptist Church with Tony Castleberry officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Valley Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Benjamin BerNard Finley, 44 of Atlanta died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at his home. Mr. Finley was born Dec. 15, 1966, in Douglassville, Texas. He was an employee of Atlanta, Texas Public Works Department and a member of Free Christian Zion COGIC.

ATLANTA, Texas—Dorothy VeElma Smith, 74, of DeKalb, Texas, died Friday, July 29, 2011, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Clarksville, Texas. She was an employee of Jordan Health Service and a member of Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willie James Smith; five daughters, Velma Propps of Domino, Texas, Linda Wills of DeKalb, Faye Coleman of Dallas, Carolyn Smith of Newhall, Calif., and Patsy Lovett of Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, Tommy Smith of Northridge, Calif., and Lavon Smith of Newhall; one sister, Ida Fay Coleman of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Charles Barrett of Texarkana; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Melvin Gray officiating. Burial will be in English Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.
The body may be viewed from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home, with visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
