Billy Ray Alexander, Jr., 59 of Atlanta, TX, went to be with the Lord August 24, 2021 at Christus St. Michael’s Hospital.  Billy was born November 7, 1961, in Atlanta, TX to Billy and Lorene Alexander.   He loved being outdoors, taking care of his animals.   Billy was a Logger by trade and a great shade tree mechanic.   He would help anyone in need, despite he, himself, didn’t have much.

Service will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.   A walk thru viewing will be held on August 30, from 5:00 pm, to 8:00 pm at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home, (please wear your mask).   Burial will be at Smyrna Cemetery, Atlanta, TX.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Lorene Alexander; one sister, Sherry Kay Alexander; one granddaughter, Joelee Sprayberry; one niece,  Debbie Nottingham; and two great nephews, Daultyn Slaten and Camden Mathews.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Alexander; one brother, Jeffrey Alexander; five sisters, Patricia Green (Brian) and children, Kayla,  Kasey(Kristina),and Mary Ann; Melissia Browning (Tony), and children, Tonya and Tony Jr.;  Donna Browning (Todd) and son Asa; Debra Alexander and children Kelly(Christopher and Caleb), Johnny and Donny (Little Man) and Wanda Slaten (DeWayne) and children DJ, Kevin, and Kristy (Aliyia, Lela, and Jazzy);  tree step-sons, James Nottingham (Tonya) and children Brianna and Twilight); Danny Sprayberry (Angela) and children Casen and Cadent;  William Sprayberry and children Lilly Dean and Molly Mae Pruitt; and a number other relatives and friends.

Donna R. Brown, 71, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2021 in a Texarkana Rehab Center.   Mrs. Brown was born in Kansa City, Missouri and was a retired school teacher.  Donna attended First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas.

Alvin Tyson 72,  of Rodessa, LA, passed away on June 3, 2021.   Bro Alvin Tyson was born August 30, 1948 to the late Rev. Andrew and Sis. Vera Tyson.  He was baptized at an early age and united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and later united with the Old Ebeneezer Baptist Church in 2010.

Alvin attended Pine Valley School and graduated from Herndon High School.  After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Purple Hear.   He is a member of the North Star Lodge #69 in Rodessa, Louisiana.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Curtis Ashton, officiating.  Viewing will be Friday, June 11, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will Military Honors will be held at the Antioch Cemetery in Rodessa, LA,under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral home.

Tyson.

Mrs. Brenda Kaye Peppers was born in Naples Texas, May 16, 1963 to the late Venolia and Henry B. Garner.   She passed away May 2, 2021 at a Longview Hospital.

Brenda joined  Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Douglassville at an early age. In 2015, she moved her membership to the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Daingerfield, Texas, where she served as a Sunday School Secretary. She graduated from Atlanta High School in 1981. She worked at Pilgrim Pride for many years.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, at First Baptist Church, 205 Allday Street, Atlanta, TX, Rev. Jonathan Stanmore, Pastor, and Rev. Martin Godwin, Officiating.   Viewing will be held on Friday, May 7, from 1:00 Noon to 5:00 P.M. at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Daingerfield Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home

She leaves to cherish in memory a devoted husband, William of Lone Star Texas; four children: Brandon of Queen City Texas, Briony (Michael) Epps of Fort Worth Texas, Bershard of Marietta Texas, and Bianca of Atlanta Texas. From her union with William she became a second Mom to Ashanti Peppers Tyson Boyd, Chris Pearson, William Peppers, Jr, and LaNita Peppers;  four sisters: Betty Garner, Lovie Garner, Robin Garner, and Senetha Epps; brother: James Christopher Garner; eleven grandchildren: Brooklynn Garner, Bri’Asia Campbell, Brysen Andrews, Brislynn Garner, Michael Epps Jr., Bella Garner, Braylon Epps, Brayden Garner, Calvin Martin III, Briah Garner, Jayda Holman; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and other friends.

Richard Stiger, Sr. 82 of Atlanta, passed away January 15, 2021 at his residence.   Mr. Stiger was born April 2, 1938 in Shiloh, Texas.   He was a member of Living Water COGIC and a retired Railroad-Construction Worker.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kirk Harper; a daughter, Latresa Yvonne Stiger Parker; 9 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Graveside Service will be held January 23, 2021 at the Shiloh Cemetery at 11:00 A.M.  Rev. Richard Stiger, Jr. officiating, under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.     The body may be viewed on Friday, January 22, from 5:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Survivors includes:  2 sons, Richard Stiger, Jr, Texarkana, TX, and Christopher (Shanequa) Stiger of Atlanta, Texas; 2 daughters, Tina (Freddy) Washington of Ashdown, AR; and Felicia (Jaimmonica) June of Grand Prairie, Texas., a brother, Ronnie(Thelma Jewel) Stiger, Sr. of Queen City, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

Miles McGraw  97 of Douglassville, TX passed away on December 30, 2020 in a Texarkana Hospital.  Mr. McGraw was born on September 13, 1923, in Marietta, Texas, to the late Frank and Clemy McGary.  He attended Floyd Valley for his schooling and also enlisted in the United States Army.  In 1948, he married Mrs. Willie Mae McGraw.   Miles retired from Red River Army Depot.   After retiring, he sold watermelons for 35 years.

Grave Side Service for Miles McGraw will be held on  Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gum Springs Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.  Mr. McGraw can be Viewed from 12 noon until 5:00 P.M. Friday, January 8, 2021 at the funeral home.

Miles was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Willie Mae McGraw; his brother, Charles E. McGraw; daughter, Myrtis L. Crain; and grandson, Declus T. McGraw.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Charice (NaTarsha) McGraw, Sarah Dawson, Gretchen Wilkerson; son, Ernest (Cleo) McGraw; sister, Marilyn (Albert) Brown, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Norris Hall.

Mr. Odell Grigsby was born on January 17, 1945 to the late Mary Grigsby Sanders and Noble Grigsby, who both preceded him in death, along with his wife, Cloteel Grigsby. He attended school at Kashmere High School in Houston, Texas. He was a member of St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church of Kildare, Texas where he remained a faithful member until his health failed. He entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2020 at Focus Healthcare in Linden, Texas. His favorite hobbies were playing dominoes (while talking much noise) and being around his family.

Mr. Grigsby leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Dennis Bridges of Kildare, Texas; one brother, Alexander (Effie) Johnson of Humble, Texas; two sisters, Sallie Hunter of Greenville, Texas and Dorothy (Charles) McCullough of Queen City, Texas; a cousin (that he considered his daughter), Matrae (Kent) Hodge; Godchildren, Chasinique, Chassidy and Chelsey Kelly; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many, many friends, as well as his domino buddies – Luther Groce and Ronnie Gipson.

Otera Fayrene Banks, 79, of 1104 S. Williams St., Atlanta, TX, died Nov. 20, 2020, at Waterton Plaza, Texarkana, TX.

Ms. Banks was born January 19, 1941, in Queen City, TX.  She was a retired production worker at Lone Star Ammunition and a member of Enon First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Texas.

Survivors include one son, Rickie (Christine) Banks of Atlanta, Texas; two daughters, Belinda Banks Bell of Waco, Texas, and Terri Banks-Kelley of Hooks, Texas; one sister, Jerlene Banks of Terrell, Texas; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Mr. Bey was born January 10, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois. He was a
machine operator with Ward Timber.
