Roberta “Roe” Martin, age 90 of Atlanta, TX died September 6, 2019, at her home. Ms. Martin was born December 13, 1928, in Atlanta, Texas. She was a C.N.A.

She was preceded in death by One son, Willie Henry Martin; Four brothers, Earl Jacobs, Daniel Lee Richardson, Henry Richardson, Jr, and Glenn Richardson; two sisters, Lillian Mum and Roxie Mack.

Survivors she leaves to cherish her memory, six children: Emma Jean Walton of Long Beach, CA; Bobby Burneham of Atlanta, TX; Howard Stanton of Bloomburg, TX; Tony Phillips of Bellflower, CA, Clifford Phillips of Las Vegas, NV and Edward Austin of Queen City, TX; four sisters, Ella Mae Williams of Pasadena, CA, Emma Lee Stanton of Queen City, TX, Annie James of Los Angeles, CA and Joyce Rivers of Los Angeles, CA; one brother, David Lee Richardson of Dallas, TX, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services are 11 AM Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Shady Grove CME, 1029 County Road 3324, Atlanta, TX with Minister Rev. B.C. James. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery, Atlanta, TX, under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home. The body may be viewed from noon until 5 pm on Friday, 9-13-2019, at the funeral home.

Leonard Neal, Jr., 58 of Douglassville, Texas passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at his residents.   Mr. Neal was born December 16, 1960, in Douglassville, Texas.   He was a machine operator and a member of Free Christian Zion of Douglassville.

Leonard is survived by his mother, Estell Neal of Douglassville; two sons, Julius Neal (Shaderine) and Marquae Sigler, both of Dallas, TX; three brothers, James Neal (Debra) of Red Hill, Johnny Lockhart (Bobbie) of Douglassville, and Johnny Neal (Constance) of Texarkana;  four sisters, Ida Houston (Kenneth), Mildred Dixon of Red Hill, Mary Dowden (Lenard) of Queen City, and Stephanie Henderson (Percy) of Lubbock;  He is also survived by honorary children, Nya Nelson, Miranda Simmons(Ben), Mark Fisher and grandchildren; Special Friends:   Arlene White, Willie Earl, Allen White and Sue Raymon.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Free Christian Zion of Douglassville, Texas with Pastor Vera Ann Brown officiating. Visitation will he July 12 at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home from 12:00 until 8 P.M.  Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

Normalene Jefferson, 86, of Atlanta died Sunday, June 16, 2019, in a local nursing home. Ms. Jefferson was born May 8, 1933, in Linden, Texas. She was an inspector and a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Janice and Jerry Saddler and Sandra Jefferson; and three sons, Kenneth Jefferson, Michael Jefferson and John Jefferson.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruth Northcutt, 83, of Atlanta died Friday, May 3, 2019, in a local nursing home. Ms. Northcutt was born Feb. 22, 1936, in Atlanta. She was retired from Red River Army Depot and a member of Saint Paul C.M.E.

Survivors include one grandchild, Tayrell Larry; two great-grandchildren, Tayrell Jr. and Tajarion; one daughter-in-law, Sheryl Northcutt; one special friend, Harold McKinney; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint Paul C.M.E. with the Rev. Arlistel Maxie. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

J.T. Neal, 96, of Marietta, Texas, died Thursday, April 18, 2019, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Mr. Neal was born Dec. 4, 1922. He was an Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Neal and Ricky Neal; three daughters, Annie Neal, Arrie Jenel Neal and Barbara Neal; and a number of other relatives.

Ella Louise Jiles, 72, of Naples, Texas, died Thursday, March 7, 2019, in Naples. Ms. Jiles was born Sept. 16, 1946. She was a retired CNA.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Asa and Gabrielle Jiles of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Margaret Jiles of Naples; two brothers, Ronnie and Martha Parker of Bryans Mill, Texas, and Mack Parker of Longview, Texas; two sisters, Addie and B.F. Davis of Douglassville, Texas, and Deloria Heard of Atlanta; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Lila Murl Haskins, 74, of Douglassville, Texas, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, in Douglassville. Mrs. Haskins was born April 25, 1944. She was a CNA and a member of Gum Springs CME Church.

Sonny Bee Garner, 67, of Atlanta died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, in a Shreveport, La., hospital. Mr. Garner was born March 3, 1951. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Spaesio Willard Mothershed Sr., 93, of Houston died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, in a Houston hospital. Mr. Mothershed was born June 30, 1925, in Bloomburg, Texas. He was a librarian and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Junior Ray Federick, 74, of Atlanta died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at his home. Mr. Federick was born Jan. 8, 1944, in Douglassville.  He was a retired welder and a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Belinda Federick; two sons, Paul E. Magee II and Jermaine V. Lametric Renee Evette Gamble, 36, of Queen City, Texas, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, in a Texarkana hospital. Ms. Gamble was born Dec. 11, 1981, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a member of New Beginning COGIC, Queen City.

Earl Ray Bland, 77, of Bivins, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, in a local hospital. Mr. Bland was born Dec. 11, 1940. He was a lumber strapper for Anthony’s Saw Mill and a member of St. Mary’s Baptist Church, Bivins.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Cellustein and Phillip Love and Altina and Darryl Jeffries; one sister, Alice Faye Nickleberry; five grandchildren, Marshay Love, Francesca (Matt) Watkins, Sarle Jeffries, Jaylen Love and Tinadj Jeffries; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
